new to ddlg, confused?

hey everyone, i started dating this girl and we've been having a blast but recently she suggested we try out some roleplaying stuff. so now im kinda her dad figure in these weird scenarios where shes my little girl or something. its fun and flirty at first but then it gets kinda intense like when i have to spank her for being naughty (im not really mad, just part of the play). she says its helping us connect more deeply but i feel weird sometimes. is this normal? am i missing out on something great if i dont fully commit? we havent done anything too extreme yet but its still a big change from what we used to do. im kinda asking for advice or perspective from ppl who get into this stuff regularly, id love any input! thx
