Sneaking in Snacks at Work
Anonymous Giggly Bunny #146 · General Confessions
So here I am, confessing my sin on this website. Yeah, okay, maybe it’s not a big deal but for some reason, sitting here at 3 AM thinking about it gives me the shivers. I’m a night shift worker at a warehouse, and it’s pretty standard that we’re supposed to follow strict rules about eating during working hours, no snacking while on duty. I get it, safety first and all, but sometimes it's hard to resist those chocolate bars in my locker when hunger strikes. I’ll admit, the other night, I caved. The temptation was just too much; I had a long shift ahead of me and thought maybe a little something would keep my energy up. So there I went, reaching into my locker for that forbidden treat without a second thought. I quickly unwrapped it and took a bite, delicious! Then came the moment of truth when I glanced at the clock to see how much time had passed... only about ten minutes had gone by since my last check-in. I felt a mix of guilt and fear as I realized what I might get in trouble for. Sure, it was just one little chocolate bar, but breaking any rules sets a dangerous precedent. Plus, there’s this weird part of me that knows how much the boss hates us snacking on shifts. He always talks about safety protocols and making sure everyone is vigilant. I finished my snack, cleaned up like I didn’t do anything wrong at all, and proceeded with my work as if nothing happened. But here we are; the memory of it gnawing away inside me long after that shift ended. It’s not like I’m a bad person or anything. Everyone breaks rules now and then, right? Still, there’s something about this one act that feels different, something in how it made me feel afterward. Maybe it's just my mind overthinking everything again. But here I am, confessing to eating a chocolate bar when I shouldn’t have... Is there any shame in that? Or is it more complicated than just the snack itself?
