Broke a Little Rule
Anonymous Bratty Pixie #583 · Little Space
I'm an office worker with a pretty boring week. My job is okay, but it's not what I want to do for the rest of my life. So when I got home today, I felt this pull inside me, like being back in that little space where everything is soft and warm and you don't have to worry about anything. It's a kind of magic, really.
But I was still in adult mode when I came home from work. My house was a mess, and there were dishes piled high in the sink. I know my caregiver had left me a list of chores to do before she left for her day out, but I ignored it. I let myself slip into little space instead.
I curled up with my stuffed animals and watched cartoons, that always helps me shift over. Then I got hungry, so I made myself some hot cocoa and graham crackers and snuggled under the covers on the couch. It felt amazing to be small again, even if it was just for a little while.
But then...I broke my rule. There's this jar of cookies in the cabinet that are supposed to last until next week when I go grocery shopping. I told myself no snacks after dinner because I wanted to lose weight and look good. But once I was back in little space, I just couldn't help it, I ate three big cookies.
Now I feel so guilty. My caregiver is going to be upset with me for not doing my chores too. Maybe even worse than the extra snacks. What's a little one supposed to do when they don’t want to follow rules? Should I tell her about the cookies and hope she doesn't get mad, or just pretend nothing happened?
