Confused and Curious Mommy Confession
Anonymous Sleepy Bunny #763 · General Confessions
So here's the thing. I've always been this super strict stay-at-home mommy type person. You know, the one who likes everything to be neat, organized, and in its place. And with my little ones running around all day long, there's always something to clean up or put away. But lately, I've found myself drawn to this...different side of me. It started when my partner wanted to explore a more playful Daddy/kiddo dynamic on our date nights. At first, it felt weird, but then I realized how much I enjoyed being this strict, disciplining mommy figure outside the house too. We'd have these little scenes where he'd act up and I’d be the one doling out the discipline, like a time-out or extra chores for him as his 'kiddo'. It was funny at first, but then it started to feel...really exciting. I guess what's confusing me is how much I actually enjoyed being in control, telling him off and making sure he knew who was boss. On the one hand, this side of me feels like a whole new kind of powerplay that I didn't even know I had. But on the other, there’s something about it that feels...wrong. Like maybe I’m taking some of my mom instincts too far? Shouldn’t it be just a fantasy, and not actually part of real-life parenting or disciplining my kids? So here's where I'm at, trying to figure out how much of this is just roleplay fun, and how much of me liking being so strict is something deeper. It's kind of like finding out you have a super secret alter-ego that shows up in adult playtime scenarios but feels oddly familiar in everyday life too. Am I the asshole for blurring those lines? Or am I just exploring some healthy outlets for my stricter side as a mom?
