Missed Opportunities and Late Realizations

Anonymous Blushing Kitten #332 · General Confessions

I've been in this grad school for a while now, juggling the usual mix of late-night papers, endless readings, and caffeine-fueled panic attacks. But there's one thing that keeps me up at night more than deadlines ever could: my relationship dynamic with Alex. We started this as a way to cope, a playful release from the stress of adulthood. I took on the Mommy role, providing guidance and comfort, but also enforcing rules in ways that felt both thrilling and strange. It was like getting paid back for every small rebellion and frustration I'd ever had. But now, looking back, it feels more like therapy than a game. I realize too late how much I've missed out on by being lost in the roles we played. The intimacy was there, but the depth of connection... it's hard to say if that's something our dynamic can truly bridge. Sometimes I wonder if we'll ever find the balance between the fantasy and real life again.
