Just Realized This?

So I'm this guy who's been in healthcare for years and just now realized my thing is a bit of a control freak when it comes to kink. Yesterday, I tried something with a partner where I took charge completely, kind of like role-playing as her strict nurse from hell, yeah, that tangent about nursing got away from me there. Anyway, it ended weirdly satisfying but also left me wondering if everyone secretly has these urges and just doesn't talk about them. Anyone out there shed some light? Is this a thing?
