Forgot My Medication Again? Meh.

Anonymous Velvet Star #393 · General Confessions

So I was supposed to take my damn allergy meds this morning, but you know how it goes. One second you're doing great about your responsibilities as a little person who's utterly dependent on their caregiver for everything, and the next thing you know, you've wandered off into La-la land without a care in the world. Oops! It was supposed to be part of my morning ritual, brushing teeth, putting on shoes that don't match but are oh-so-comfy, and taking my little pill, like a good little non-binary adult. But I didn’t. And now there's this sneezy mess everywhere, which is just great. I guess the real confession here is how weird it is to feel guilty for something so small. Like, why am I even worrying about being late on my meds? It’s not like anyone is going to ground me in the traditional sense of a caregiver-parent relationship. But here I am, typing this up because skipping something as mundane as medication feels... well, juvenile. Maybe it's just me trying too hard to fit into some kind of role where these small failures are magnified into major infractions. And speaking of failing, I forgot to do my laundry yesterday, which is a bigger deal than missing one pill since I’m getting dangerously close to running out of clean undies. But hey, at least it’s not like I have to ask for permission to use the washing machine, I’m 27 and can operate said machine on my own, just feeling a little off balance about adult stuff today. So yeah, here's my silly little confession: I missed one tiny step in my morning routine. No big deal, but it’s got me thinking... Do you ever feel like a total failure for forgetting to take something as simple as your meds? It probably sounds trivial to most people out there, but it’s all part of the strange little-space headspace, where even the smallest things can feel like major screw-ups. Oh well, better get back on track before this becomes a recurring thing.
