Finding Myself As A Mommy In Unexpected Places

Anonymous Naughty Pixie #452 · General Confessions

Well, you know how it goes, one day you're just going about your life, and then suddenly, without even realizing it, you find yourself in a mommy role. It's funny how that can happen out of the blue. I'm 54 now, and I thought this sort of thing was behind me long ago. But here we are. So, umm...I started hanging out with these folks online who do DDLG. They talk about it all over social media and forums too, you know, just adults roleplaying as younger selves or caregivers, but always consensual between mature people who enjoy that kind of thing. And I got sucked in, surprisingly. It's not like I haven't parented before or have kids still at home or anything silly like that. It was more about the dynamic and feeling needed in this new space I found online, it's an odd combination of vulnerability and power that kinda draws you in. There's a lot of planning, too; I mean, it feels good to plan for others' needs, which is oddly comforting. But I also feel ashamed sometimes...like maybe I should just stick to more vanilla kinks or hobbies? Or is there something wrong with exploring this part of myself now that I'm older? What if someone found out? Would they think less of me? I really am not sure how to proceed. Is it common for others my age to find themselves drawn into this kind of roleplay, even years after being parents in real life? How do you navigate such an unexpected rediscovery or reinvention later in life without feeling like a fraud?
