Bartending as Dad Duty
Anonymous Sparkly Moth #811 · General Confessions
So there I was, standing behind my bar, juggling cocktails and life lessons. Yeah, you heard that right, I'm a Daddy Dom who uses the bartending floor as an extension of his playroom. Call me old-school or outdated, but I believe in teaching responsibility from the ground up. My Little (okay, let’s call him a buddy) has been hanging around for about six months now, and we've developed this dynamic where he's there to learn and grow under my guidance. It’s not just about the drinks; it's more about how you handle your liquor and your life. We were having one of those nights when things got heated between us. He was acting out, probably from too many days off with no structure, no limits, just video games and fast food. And I’ll be honest, there’s a part of me that wonders if he's seeking the kind of discipline only an authoritarian figure like myself can provide in this chaotic world we live in. Anyway, back to the bar, it was a Tuesday night when things really came to a head. He’d made a mess of his homework and didn't show up for their weekly date, leaving me to wonder if he'd even bothered with it at all. So there I am, serving drinks, trying to keep my cool while my partner-in-crime is hiding under the covers at home, sulking. I called him in on his ass time, yeah, that's right, a virtual tanning bed, complete with a strict lecture and no screen time for a week. It was brutal but necessary, I think. And now, looking back, maybe he needed it more than the usual rules. But here’s the thing: is it ever okay to use your position of power over someone as a form of discipline? When does guiding turn into controlling? So there you have it. A night at the bar turned into an impromptu dad session. Sometimes, I wonder if I'm just too hard on him. Other times, I think we all need that reminder every now and then to keep things in perspective. And hey, who knew bartending could be so therapeutic? But seriously, what’s a Daddy Dom supposed to do when his Little is out of line? Sometimes it feels like the whole world's watching me try to figure this out.
