Just A Day

I was taking care of him today, and it felt like I was just going through the motions. We've been together for a while now, but sometimes it feels so hollow. He's not my Daddy or anything fancy like that; we're just in this together because... well, because it works? Today he was being particularly challenging, testing limits, pushing buttons. It can be exhausting, trying to balance what he needs with who I am. At the end of the day, I lay here wondering if anyone really understands what I go through. Just another day.
