Breaking a Small Rule

I'm Alex, nonbinary and twenty-five. Last week, I was playing the little role for my partner, Mark, who takes on the caregiver persona. We have these agreements, like cleaning up before bedtime, you know? But tonight, I felt so tired after work and didn't want to face any chores. So I lied to Mark that it had already been done, just to avoid the task. It was a tiny thing, but now I feel this heavy weight of guilt. Sometimes these dynamics are hard, even when we both agree on them.
