The Discipline of Choice

So uh, this is kinda weird but here it is. So I'm a trans woman in my 30s and I’ve been into the whole Mommy/Daddy dynamic for a few years now with my partner Alex. We’re both adults, we’re not looking back or anything like that - just having some fun together playing out roles we find really satisfying. I mean, I don’t feel young, but sometimes there’s this sense of wanting to be taken care of and loved in a way that reminds me of how I wished things could’ve been when I was younger, you know? So Alex is my Daddy now. I guess the thing is, we try not to go overboard. It's all consensual playtime stuff, no pretending it’s anything more than what it really is - adult fun that happens on our terms. But sometimes there are lines, and one night I pushed Alex a bit too far when I wanted him to be strict with me. We were out at dinner and he was being really laid-back and cuddly. That's fine most times but I got this urge to push back against it, to make things more intense - like maybe if I could provoke him into being stricter or even punishing me for misbehaving in some way. So when we got home, I went a bit too far with that idea. Tried to act out and be naughty just to see how he’d react. It didn’t go well at all. He’s never been one to over-discipline, but it was clear that playing this game upped the stakes in his mind somehow. And then when I started acting like a brat, he ended up scolding me pretty harshly as my Daddy - which is what we agreed upon and consensually signed off on. It felt good, but also... humbling. Made me realize I needed to respect boundaries even more than I thought. Anyway, that’s where things got interesting. Afterward, Alex talked to me about respecting the roles and our limits more carefully going forward. He reminded me we both need to stay aware of not crossing lines unintentionally or assuming we know each other's minds completely. So yeah - a reminder that even in playtime, communication is everything. I’m sure this isn’t news to anyone here, but it’s a good reminder for me especially after pushing things too far and seeing how it can backfire. And the fact that it was all consensual adult fun doesn't make it any less important to be mindful of what you're asking from your partner. So yeah, just thought I’d share this since it happened recently and still has me thinking about stuff. I mean who knew being a brat would teach me so much? But hey - there's always more to learn in every relationship, right?
