Little Mistake

I was feeling a bit down and my caregiver had given me chores to do. I knew it wasn't good enough, but I just couldn't muster the energy or motivation to tackle them. Instead of cleaning up my room like she told me to, I decided to read a book instead. It felt like such a little thing at the time, but when she found out later and gave me that disappointed look, I was hit hard with guilt. The discipline we agreed on wasn't harsh, but it stung all the same. Sometimes being an adult means handling small failures better.
