Mommy's Secret Discipline Night

Anonymous Sugar Kitten #779 · General Confessions

I've been married to my husband John for over twenty years now. We have two wonderful kids who are both in their late twenties and living their own lives away from home. It sounds like a fairytale life, right? But there’s something I’ve never told anyone about, the secret part of our relationship that we keep locked up tight inside ourselves. Every Saturday night, after the kids have left for work or school, John becomes my Daddy again, and he takes on a strict disciplinarian role. It's been going on since before they were born. At first, it was just playful teasing to spice things up in our marriage, but over time it turned into something more substantial. The idea of me being his little girl again brought us closer together when we were struggling with stress and responsibilities from raising two children. I still don't understand why exactly this works for both of us. It’s a bit like going back to a safe place in our minds, where life was simpler and the pressures weren’t as heavy. But is that healthy? Or are we just avoiding the real issues in our marriage by engaging in this fantasy world? When I look at other couples, it seems so odd and foreign, but then again, who am I to judge their dynamics when mine is no less unusual? Am I the asshole for indulging in something that’s brought us closer together, or should we be looking for ways to transition beyond this roleplay into more mature forms of connection as adults? What do you think?
