Feeling Overwhelmed as a Daddy
Anonymous Dreamy Duckling #865 · General Confessions
I'm in my mid-20s and came out as trans about three years ago. I've recently embraced a Daddy kink dynamic with a partner who is in her early 30s. We started this roleplay after she expressed interest, and it's been really fulfilling for both of us, emotionally, psychologically, and sexually. The initial period was exhilarating; we explored the boundaries and found a balance that felt comfortable for both of us. However, as time has gone on, I've noticed a shift in my mindset. While I enjoy being her Daddy, there are moments where it feels overwhelming, especially when she needs emotional support or guidance through tough times. She leans heavily on me to solve problems and make decisions, which can be draining. Sometimes, after these intense sessions, I feel depleted and question whether I’m fully embracing this role because of the joy in our dynamic or if it’s due to a deeper psychological need for control and nurturing. I've started questioning whether I should continue on this path with her. Is it normal for me to sometimes feel overwhelmed as someone's Daddy? How do I maintain my own emotional health while still being there for her in the way she needs? There are days when I'm so invested in our roleplay that I neglect other areas of my life, like personal relationships and self-care. I don't want to give up this dynamic altogether because it's brought a lot of intimacy and understanding into our relationship. But how do I ensure I’m not sacrificing too much of myself? Am I the asshole for feeling overwhelmed or should I look at ways to balance my needs with hers?
