feeling lost

hey so i just figured out that im into dom stuff like being told what to wear and when to eat and stuff. it started cuz my mom was always super strict when i was growing up, you know? but now its kinda confusing me cos she's not around anymore and im with this girl who says shes my best friend but she wants all these weird sex things that arent even related to what id be into. like being spanked or told off or stuff. i just feel so lost. do other people have this problem where their childhood affects their adult sexuality in ways they dont understand? im scared it means something is wrong with me. anyone else ever deal with this?
