A Complicated Relationship Dynamic
Anonymous Blushing Cupcake #197 · General Confessions
So here's the thing, I've been in a dynamic with my partner for about five years now. It's complex because I'm this weird switch kind of person who sometimes wants to be taken care of like I'm younger, and other times, I get into the role of taking care of them as if they're that little one. We've had some ups and downs but it generally works pretty well for both of us. The thing is, there's this recent event where we sort of crossed a line, at least in my mind. It happened late last week when I was feeling particularly playful and asked them to act more like they would if they were younger than me. We did some roleplay stuff that felt good but also left me questioning things afterwards. Was it just playful fun, or is there something else going on here? We've talked about it a bit, but we're still trying to figure out exactly what the boundaries are and whether this is okay between us. It's not like I want to break up or anything, I'm actually pretty happy with things, but sometimes these dynamics can be hard to navigate. Do you ever find yourself in situations where you wonder if your relationship is crossing some invisible line? How do people usually handle figuring out the limits of what they're comfortable with? I guess overall, I just feel a bit confused and uncertain right now about whether this playful dynamic we have will continue or if it's time for us to re-evaluate everything. Anyone else ever in a similar situation?
