Lost My Cool, But It's Okay

Last night was a mess of emotions and I'm still trying to sort it out. Daddy asked me to clean the kitchen after dinner. He knows how messy I can be with leftovers and dishes piling up. So, there I am, scrubbing away at stubborn stains when the phone rings. It's an old friend from college asking about my life now. We chat for a good twenty minutes, catching up on everything that’s happened since we last saw each other. The kitchen was forgotten by then. When Daddy came back home from running errands, he walked in and noticed immediately. 'Did you forget about the kitchen?' He asked sternly. I couldn't hide my guilt. 'Yes,' I whispered. It wasn’t a big deal really, just a missed chore. But it felt like such a failure at that moment. Daddy sat me down and we talked it through. He reminded me of the importance of responsibility but also showed understanding. In DDLG, every rule is there for a reason, to guide us both in ways that aren't easy to follow all the time. This little slip-up made me realize how much I rely on our dynamic for structure and accountability. And when things go wrong, it's okay. We talk about it, learn from it, then move forward stronger.
