Taking Care of My Partner Without Labels
Anonymous Blushing Peach #222 · General Confessions
I've been in a committed relationship for over five years now, and my partner and I have an unusual dynamic that neither of us calls 'Daddy/Mommy,' but it's clearly rooted in the same territory. When we're alone together, there's this unspoken understanding that I take on a nurturing role, not because I'm older or because she needs help with basic things like cooking or cleaning (she can handle all that herself), but more to provide emotional support and guidance when needed. We share everything intimately; the trust between us is profound. Last week, after a particularly stressful work situation left her feeling emotionally drained, I did something rather bold, I sent her to bed early and made sure she got plenty of rest, even preparing light meals for her during that time. She seemed to appreciate it, but I'm unsure if this kind of care takes things too far in our relationship. Is this common? Do you think she might view my actions as patronizing rather than supportive?
