Anonymous Pouty Petal #933 · General Confessions

I never thought I’d admit to this kind of thing, but here it is. I’m forty-five and I just figured out that I’ve had a Dominant/submissive dynamic in my head for most of my life, or at least the last few years, now that I think about it. It’s weird because up until recently, I never even thought about such things. But then one day, it hit me like a thunderbolt: there are moments when I just can’t resist bending the rules and pushing boundaries. Let me back up a little. In my headspace, I’m the submissively compliant type. It’s this weird thing where no matter how much control I want to feel in life, I have tenure at a university after all, there are times when something inside of me just wants to rebel against authority figures. It doesn’t make sense and it’s been bothering me for weeks. Anyway, here comes the confession part: last week, my roommate was out of town. She always tells me not to eat from her cupboard unless she’s here because she has a specific diet that requires certain foods at all times. I knew this, we’ve talked about it plenty. But one day when I got home, hungry and stressed after grading papers, I found myself in front of the kitchen cabinet. Without thinking twice, my hand reached out for a chocolate bar. It was almost like some part of me said “go ahead” or something. I took the chocolate and put it behind my back, like hiding something as a kid would do. And then I thought about all the times she’s mentioned her diet concerns to me. It’s not just an offhand thing, she takes it seriously. But still... that small act felt rebellious and naughty in a way that made me feel conflicted yet oddly satisfied. Breaking this rule was more than just breaking a rule; it felt like pushing back against authority, testing boundaries, something I’ve been thinking about for months now within my DDLG headspace. Here’s the thing though: despite how it might sound, there wasn’t anything sexual or kinky about taking that chocolate bar. It was just me being sneaky and defiant because someone else told me not to do something. And that’s what has me confused, why does feeling a little naughty when breaking rules fit into my submissive headspace? What am I getting out of this? I didn’t eat the chocolate in the end, but even thinking about it later made me wonder if there’s something deeper going on with these feelings and how they relate to my overall dynamic. It doesn’t make sense, it’s just a small act of defiance, yet it feels like so much more.
